Gibraltar Eruv

Gibraltar Eruv

Gibraltar has an established Eruv covering the majority of the territory, allowing the carrying of permitted items within its boundaries on Shabbat, in accordance with Jewish law.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the Eruv boundaries before Shabbat.

Eruv Map: View the Gibraltar Eruv Map

Important Eruv Boundary Information

Waterport Terraces

The area around Waterport Terraces should be accessed with care, as the Eruv does not extend to all parts of Waterport.

In particular, the Eruv does not include the waterfront promenade. Care should therefore be taken not to exit the estate from the northern side while carrying.

Sunborn Hotel

The Sunborn Hotel may only be accessed through the main side entrance (hotel reception) while carrying within the Eruv. The rear entrance is not included.

Areas Not Included in the Eruv

  • Morrisons Park
  • Gibraltar Airport
  • Frontier Area
  • Camp Bay Area
  • All beaches

Important: Eruv boundaries and operational status should be confirmed before Shabbat. Visitors should consult the Eruv map and seek clarification if they are unsure whether a particular location or route is included.
